You Don’t Have to Feel Positive to Choose It.
One question. One conversation. A whole new perspective.
In 2024, while completing my Trauma-Informed Coaching certification, I was introduced to Dr. Paul Jenkins and his teachings in Positive Psychology.
What I didn’t know then was how profoundly this man would influence my life.
Throughout my training, we worked closely together, and I went on to become certified in Positive Psychology through his teaching.
And then, during one coaching session, he asked me a question.
Just one question.
Something I had never considered before.
And in that moment, everything shifted.
I was hooked.
I began seeing myself, my experiences, and the possibilities ahead of me through an entirely different lens.
But perhaps the greatest gift Dr. Paul gave me was something I hadn’t even realized I was looking for.
He didn’t just influence what I teach. He influenced how I listen, how I ask questions, and how I see the person sitting across from me.
He helped me understand that sometimes the most powerful thing we can offer another human being is a question that opens a door they didn’t even know existed.
That understanding became part of the foundation of the coach I am today.
What began as a teacher-student relationship grew into a mentorship, a friendship, and now a professional collaboration.
I’m proud to be a founding member of Daily Positives, to collaborate with Dr. Paul as a fellow coach, and to continue learning from him every single day.
Our work is rooted in a shared belief that perspective matters, that people have extraordinary potential, and that even the smallest shift in thinking can open the door to meaningful change.
